Essie Simpson-Jamison

Essie Simpson-Jamison age 72 of Wilmington, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday July 9, 2014. Essie was born May 21, 1942 to the late Leonard and Willie Mae Simpson. Formerly of Greensboro, NC, Essie was raised by the Late Bishop Mary Edna Bowman. Before relocating to Wilmington DE, she graduated from North Carolina A&T, where she was a proud member of the marching band as a majorette. She was a former Director of Social Work for the State of Delaware, where she served in this role for many years before retiring.

A farewell memorial luncheon is scheduled for Saturday July 19, 2014 At Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 3079 New Castle Ave, New Castle, DE 19720 at 11:00 am where family and friends can come to celebrate her life.
