Evelyn Elizabeth(Jackson) Brown passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 5, 2015. Evelyn, the daughter of the late Joseph B. Jackson, Sr. and the late Minerva P. Jackson, was born on July 12, 1937 in Wilmington, DE where she spent her life time. She received her early education in the Wilmington Public Schools and attended Howard High School.

Her first venture in the work world was in retail at the former John Wanamaker Department Store in Wilmington. Soon afterwards she was employed by the State of Delaware( Division of Motor Vehicles) as a Title Clerk for over 25 years until her retirement in 1999.

Evelyn was a natural for keeping herself active. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting, gardening, baking, sewing, dancing, music, watching football and baseball, and occasionally shopping, traveling or going to the casino in her leisure time. Evelyn was happiest in the presence of her family and especially enjoyed being in the company of her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by 2 brothers, 2 brothers-in-law,4 sisters-in-law, one great grandson, 2 nieces and nephews. Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Howard R. Brown, Jr., 4 sons, Marvin D. Brown, Howard R. Brown3rd, Orlando A. Brown(Sherell), Deion A. Brown(Mary), 2 daughters, Tracey T. Whye(John) and Leondra M. Brown, 3 brothers, 1 sister and 4 sisters-in-law, 1 aunt, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 6 PM on Monday February 16, 2015, Mother UAME Church, 701 E. 5th St. Wilmington, DE. Viewing 4-6 PM. Interment, Delaware Veterans Cemetery.
