Thomas Dore Smith, the son of Harry James Smith, Jr. and the late Roslyn Woodard-Smith was born January 4, 1978 with his twin brother, Harry J. Smith,lll who preceded him in death. Thomas attended Wilmington Public Schools and graduated A.I. DuPont High School in 1996. While attending A.I. DuPont High School, Thomas served as captain of the varsity football team, and played alto saxophone in the highly decorated marching band. Thomas was also a member of the F.A.M.E. Program (Forum to Advance Minorities in Engineering).
Upon graduating from High school, Thomas attended Morgan Sate University where he studied Civil Engineering and received ROTC Cadet Training. Thomas was also a certified electrician and held positions at Triton Construction and was most recently employed at Amtrak.
Thomas participated in church activities at an early age at Community Presbyterian Church in New Castle, Delaware. He was also a memeber of the Victory Christian Fellowship where he was a member of the Men's Group and volunteered in the Saturday's food program.
Thomas was a devoted fan of all the Philadelphia sports teams and often attended their games. His favorite teams were the Eagles and the Sixers. Thomas is described by many as being loving, caring and devoted freind. He will surely be missed by all.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories; his father, Harry J. Smith, Jr., his sister Cherisse Whye, his maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Woodard, his paternal grandmother, Irene Smith-Turner and a host of beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebratory Memorial Service will be held on Friday March 3,2017 at Victory Christian Fellowship 100 Wilton Blvd., New Castle, DE at 10am. Interment will be private
