Janet M. Williamson-Forrest was born on January 6, 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Alice Williamson Craig.
She moved to Wilmington, DE in 1961. She gave her heart and life to Jesus Christ at an early age. She joined Shiloh Baptist Church and was baptized under the pastorate of the late Dr. William W. Manley at 5th and Walnut Streets. She was a faithful member of the Shiloh Usher Board until her health began to fail. Janet also faithfully served as a Board member of the Spirit of Life-GLM Ministries, Inc.
Janet received her education in the public schools of Pittsburgh, PA and Wilmington, Delaware. She received her Bachelor degree from Wilmington College and her Master of Social Work from Delaware State University. She passionately loved being a social worker and working with the disenfranchised population. Her employment included Connections CSP, Christiana Care Infectious Disease Clinic, Christiana Care Department of Social Work and Divita Dialysis Unit until she became ill.
Janet was preceded in death by a son, Mark A. Williamson. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, James S. Forrest, mother-in-law, Doretha Skinner; three children: Donald A. Williamson, Kimberly L. Williamson, Vincent M. Williamson (Tammy); 2 beloved step daughters: Carolyn F. Edwards (Tim) and Michele Francia; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grand children; one sister: Jacqueline A. Williamson of Inglewood, CA; one brother: Donald R. Williamson (Rev. Joan); one devoted cousin: Loretta W. Jackson, two devoted aunts: Marcellina Williamson of Pgh., PA and Marguerite Fisher of Los Angeles, CA; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
