Constance “Mac Attack” V. Murray, was born January 13, 1944, to the late Thomas James McIntosh Sr. and Erma D. Mc In tosh Cuff in Wilmington, DE. She very peacefully transitioned to her home in heaven on Monday, November 26, 2018 surrounded by family. God sent an angel and closed her eyes as she graduated to glory.
Connie was educated in the Wilmington Public School System. She attended and graduated from
Man Power and the American Red Cross, where she received her Nursing Degree. She joined Mother AUMP Church under the leadership of the late Bishop Reverend George F. Brown, where she sang with the Young Adult Chorus, J. Hall Choir, August Quarterly Choir and the Late Queen Bell. She was an usher and participated in a host of other events in church. She loved to sing and had an Angelic voice just as her mother had.
Connie enjoyed skating, bowling, swimming, dancing and singing and other recreational activities during her younger years as she hung out with her older sisters and brothers. She started the Soul Collets Drill Team in 1969 with her children and nieces. They brought home the Championship Trophy for DE from Atlantic NJ and the Tri-State Area. She worked at the DuPont Company as a secretary. Connie worked for the U.S Military Service in the early 1960’s. and served on the Board of Residential Council at the Parkview Apartments, Wilmington DE.
Connie was married to the late Earl F. “Que” Murray, Jr. She enjoyed family time, cooking and having a good time with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted children, Norman E. Miller, Jr. Norma E. Miller, and Timothy J. Miller. 8 grandchildren, Nicole (Eric) Cheeks, Deatrich (Kevin) Chambers, Kavone Peterson, Danyelle C. Dashiell, Tevon Wisher Andrew Miller, Deatrich L. Miller and Alfred Showell, Jr. 5 Great grandchildren, Jada Johnson Tylen and Karee Anderson, Deon Chambers and Taylor Spigner and 1 great great grandchild, Chloe Parker. Four Sisters Erma Sissy V. Peterson, Barbara E. Coleman, Ann B. Collins, Reverend Gloria E. Ross and Brother in Law, Nelson E. Ross, Mother in Law, Christine Loveland and two devoted cousins, Joyce Summers and Carolyn McQueen, of Philadelphia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Earl “Que” Murray, Jr. and daughter, Karen “SixNine” Miller .
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday December 5, 2018 at Mother AUMP Church, 812 N. Franklin Street Wilmington, DE. Viewing 9-11 AM, Service, 11:00 AM. Interment, Gracelawn Memorial Park.
