Cynthia Rae Winder, affectionately known as "Cindy," was born on February 28,1954, to the late Matthew Winder and Hazel E. Scott. She suddenly transitioned on June 12, 2025.
Cindy began her education at George Gray Elementary and Colwyck Middle School and she graduated from Delawarr High School. Her passion for learning continued at Goldey Beacom College and Widener University, where she pursued studies that would lead to a meaningful and impactful career in social work. As a licensed Social Worker, Cindy served clients across Pennsylvania and Delaware with compassion and dedication. Her unwavering commitment to helping others led her to establish her own private practices, where she earned the trust and gratitude of many individuals and families. Over the years, she also attained numerous certifications to further enhance her professional capabilities.
Beyond her career, Cindy had a deep love for animals, especially birds. Her home was often filled with their vibrant energy and song. She also had a flair for fashion and channeled her creative spirit into launching her own boutique, “Symphony Care’s”, where her eye for style truly shined.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Matthew Winder and Hazel E. Scott, as well as her dear son, Shelvon Winder.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted siblings, Rev. Ella Edwards and Gerald Winder, Sr. (Lola); two nieces, Yvonne Matthews (Brian) and Ilieta Winder; three nephews, Charles Priest III, Darrion Winder, and Gerald Winder, Jr.; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of extended family members and cherished friends.
Cynthia’s legacy of service, love, and individuality will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
