Floyd H. Demby, Jr. of Wilmington, Delaware passed away Tuesday July 23, 2019.

Floyd was born January 8, 1959 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Floyd H. Demby, Sr. and Marie Arabella (Abbington)Demby. He graduated from Brandywine High School, Wilmington, Delaware in 1977. Floyd followed in his father's footsteps and attended school to become a Class A CDL truck driver.

Prior to his illness, he was an active member of the Thunderguards Motorcycle Club in Wilmington, Delaware. Floyd loved trucks throughout his life. He inherited his love of trucks from his father Floyd H. Demby, Sr.  In addition to driving tractor trailers, Floyd was also certified to and taught others to drive. He worked as a truck driver for several major and mid-size companies throughout his 30+ years trucking career. Floyd worked for Walmart as a Class A CDL truck driver for fifteen years until his illness.

Floyd and his family enjoyed cruises, motorcycle rides, cooking out and visiting restaurants. He and his family enjoyed Royal Caribbean cruises and a trip to Punta Dominican Republic.

Survivors include his wife Rachael A. Demby, two daughters, Tierra Demby of Pensacola Florida and Shalonda Demby. Five step-children; Clarence Jackson, Amin S. Wade, Devon Pommer, Raqun Pommer, Dannia Pommer  and Fulah Wade. Floyd helped to raise 4 of his step-children. In addition to his children he is survived  by two sisters,  Pamela Higginbotham (Thurman) of Waldorf, MD and Shelia Floyette Demby Marlowe of Wilmington, DE, three aunts; Louise Harman of Wilcoe, WV, Lovella Sheffield(Otis) of Huntington, WV and Pearl Demby Boggs of Hurlock, MD; father-in law and mother-in-law,  James Cobia and Mamie Cobia of Sharon Hill, PA. Floyd also leaves 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Viewing only will be held on Saturday August 3, 2019 at Mother UAME Church, 701 E. 6th Street, Wilmington, Delaware 9-11 am.
