Gary was born on June 17, 1950, in Clairton, PA, to John & Annie Malone. He passed away on August 1, 2025 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE.
Gary received his early childhood education from Stubbs Elementary School. He graduated from Howard High School, and immediately began working at L.I. Kid. He enrolled into Delaware Technical College where he studied engineering. His studies lead him to become the first black man to work for Delmarva Power and Light through Affirmative Action, where he worked for 17 years. Gary also worked for many years at Delaware Park & Parx Race Track doing what he loved to do, which was work with horses.
He was an All Star basketball and football player which lead to his longstanding allegiance to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, handicapping races, fishing, and maintaining his personal aquarium. He was such a fun guy who liked to have a good time.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Thomas "TG" Malone, Leonard Jenkins, John L. Malone, Herman "Art" Malone, Benjamin "Sonny" Hawkins (brothers), Estelle Wheeler, Virginia Holley, Carrie Lee Marsh, and Mildred Ferrell (sisters).
Gary is survived by Gary S Malone Jr, Marcus S Malone (sons), Shanin Johnson, Lauren Handy, Alexis Malone, Morgan Malone (daughters). Gary S Malone III, Kyaire Malone, Lorestee Handy Jr, Tyana Malone, Zorion & Zari Handy (the twins), La'Zye Malone, Mahkayla Malone, Sevyn Jones, Amina Mosley, Drayden & Draydarian Malone (the twins) (grandchildren), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
