Gerald Foster

April 6, 1936 — November 4, 2019

Gerald Foster, son of the late Edith Mae McDonald was born on April 6, 1936 in Wilmington, Delaware. He departed this life peacefully on November 4, 2019, in the Christiana Care hospital after a lengthy stay at the Kutz Home in Wilmington, Delaware.

He received his early education in the Wilmington Public Schools. In 1950, he joined the United States Army. He proudly served our country in the Korean Conflict and received an Honorable Discharge. After the military, Gerald was gainfully employed by Bell Atlantic, Bayshore Auto parts for many years. After retirement, Gerald enjoyed catching up on all his favorite television shows, especially Gun Smoke and old John Wayne westerns.

Gerald was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene “Shy” Walton, brother Richard H. Johnson Jr., his sons, Gerald Foster Jr. and Vincent Allen. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Kim Allen and Gary Foster; four daughters, Roma Romeo, Denise “Happy” Foster, Carla Foster, Gail Foster, two brothers, Juan Johnson, Gary Johnson, and three sisters , Kim Moore(Ronald), Rowena Spencer(Wayne) and Arlene Johnson, and a host of  grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles,  nieces and nephews all of New Castle County Delaware.

Homegoing services will be held on Wednesday November 27, 2019 at 11am, viewing 9-10:45am at Mother UAME Church, 701 E. 5th Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
