James O. "Bozo" Bolden, Jr.

November 13, 1938 — April 10, 2022

James O. Bolden, Jr., son of the late James O. Bolden, Sr. and Hazel Purnell Bolden was born on November 13, 1938 in Prince Edward County Virginia. He departed this life peacefully on April 10, 2022

He received his education in the public school system in Prince Edward County, VA. James became employed by Wayside Furniture in the early 60.He retired from Waste Management in 2010.

James and Betty were married on October 27, 1972. And from that union they had a blended family of 5 kids.

James was one of the original 207, second of the seven, that came in from Wilson Street Thunder Guard Motorcycle Club established in 1965. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson as long as he could and shooting the breeze with his family and friends. He was also the neighborhood Dad taking all of our childhood friends to wrestling matches.

He enjoyed watching cowboy movies along with being an Eagles fan and shooting his rifle off on New Year’s Eve with his sons and grandsons. He also enjoyed hunting, but most of all listening to his music and cooking .Daddy made the best sweet potato pies!!

James leaves to cherish in memories his beloved children; Kimberly, Terrance, Dereck, and Stanly. Five grandchildren who he was so very proud of, Deon, Jayvon, Allante’, Hassan and Shaquan. Five great grand; Khailf, True, Chance, Love and Nune, 2 sisters-in-law, Jeanette Lott and Geneva Williams and a special cousin Willie Croner and a host of nephews, nieces, Pam and Regina, cousins and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his son Kevin, his parents James and Hazel Bolden, his sisters; Peggy, Barbara, Diana, and his brother, Charles Bolden. Brother-in-law, Charlie Williams. Son-in-law, John C. Johnson, mother-in-law, Susie Taylor and great aunt, Ann Bolden.

A celebration of his life will be held on Monday April 25, 2022 at Congo's Legacy Center, 501 W. 28th St. Wilm., DE 19802. Viewing 9-11am. Service at 11 am. Interment, Gracelawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
