Juanita B. Wise

February 25, 1922 — June 30, 2018

Juanita Beverly Wise, daughter of Earl A. Wilson and Bessie Marie Flamer Wilson, was born February 25, 1922, in Wilmington De. She departed this life Saturday June 30, 2018 at the Regency Nursing facility. She was bless to survive 96 long years.

She received her education and graduated from Howard High School Wilmington were she loved playing basketball as a right guard.
In 1938 she married her high School Sweetheart James Gibbs of Wilmington: and from this union was born Charles Randall (Ranny) Gibbs. As a young adult Juanita left DE and moved to NY City NY were she became a gifted Tap Dancer. She always said she loved it.
Juanita moved to Manhattan NY to be with her mother. It was there that she met her dear friend and bow: James Wise: who nick named her (Neet} and he could say it like no other. Eventually she returned back to Wilmington and soon he followed her. On July 4th 1980 they took their wedding vowels. No children were born to that union.

Juanita worked at the Brandywine Zoo for many years as a cashier. She also did Domestic work for many families in Wilmington, and was a home care Aide for the DE Sr. center.
She was an excellent house keeper, and knew how to cook. Her specialty was potato salad and she loved pork chops. She enjoyed eating Oreo Cookies, Nestle Crunch, and her favorite was applesauce. Also she enjoyed playing games such as: musical bingo, pinochle, pity pat, bingo, and word search which kept her mind sharp.

Juanita became a member of Freedom Baptist Church in New Castle De. Where she was honorably appointed to the Mother’s ministry by her pastor. She enjoyed wearing jewelry, getting her nails done and her favorite color was bright red. Before she took sick she was an active member of Meeting of the Minds at the Newark Sr. Center. She was a listener and observer but she knew how to get her point across.

She leaves to cherish fond memories! One and only child Charles Randall Gibbs, God daughter Barbara Ann Brooks, favorite Cousin and friend Carrie Daniels, 38 grand- children, 75 great- grand, great-great grandchildren.
