Kadeejia W. Jackson was born November 5, 1948 in Wilmington, Delaware to Lydia C. and the late Enoch A. Watson, Sr. The Fourth sibling of Ten Children, she transitioned on Sunday May, 13, 2018 in the Christiana Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Kadeejia, affectionally known as "Dee" by her family, many friends and associates, received her early education at Elbert Elementary, Bancroft Jr. High, and graduated from PS DuPont High School in 1966. Kadeejia attended and graduated from Goldey Beacon Jr. College in 1968 majoring in Business. After graduation she pursued her career with the City of Wilmington, in the Personnel Department as a Human Resources Administrator for over two decades and retiring before the age of 50. While working for the City of Wilmington she was chosen as "Miss Rodney Square" in the "Miss Delaware Pageant." Moving forward she pursued a second career working with the Brandywine School District, in both Administrative and Classroom positions, retiring AGAIN*****DOUBLE BLESSINGS****
Kadeejia was a member of Mother African Union First Colored Methodist Protestant Church. she was a Missionary and Sunday School Assistant for the youth of the Church. She served on the Search Committee for the hiring of the Pastor.
Kadeejia was a "devoted" daughter to her Mother and LOVED to shop. She will be well remembered for her infectious smile. She was very talented and abundantly gifted. Her many talents included but not limited to making and creating unique outfits for special occasions, her family and friends. She had a special gift and a vision to create "one of a kind" presents all made out of money. Her talent to sew she shared with the young ladies of the Girls Club of Wilmington, teaching them to sew, as well as the importance of etiquette and charm in their lives. Kadeejia spent precious moments of her time with her ladies group "Ladies of Leisure" (LOL)
Kadeejia was preceded in death by her father Enoch A. Watson, Sr. and her brother Alturo Watson.
Kadeejia leaves to cherish her memories, Lydia C. Watson, mother and siblings, Denise Marshall, Annette Forehand, Gamaliel(Snake) Watson, Wanda Watson, and Carlton Watson(Angela), all of Wilmington. Enock Watson(Barbara), of California, Bonita Busby, of Tennessee, and Alisa Megginson, of Nevada. Host of Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. Three Goddaughters; Yashica Megginson, Kanani Haines Munford and Kalila Hines. A special thanks to cousin Cheris C. Allen and friend, Cheryl Coverdale.
Service will be on Monday May 21, 2018 at 11 am, Mother African Union First Colored Methodist Protestant Church, 812 N. Franklin Street, Wilmington, DE 19805. Viewing 9-11 am. Interment, Gracelawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
