Wilmington - Richard L. Jones, 86, of  Wilmington, DE died on March 29, 2018. He was born August  6, 1931 to the late Ernest and Eva Jones of Wilmington, DE. After graduating from Howard High School, Richard received his Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore. Richard also joined the US Army in 1953, proudly serving in the Korean War, and later as an Army reservist.
Richard was a retired engineer in the Mechanical Testing department of E. I. DuPont in Newark, DE. He was preceded in death in 2002 by his wife, Louise Ann Jones. He is survived by his daughters, Karen Y. Jones of New Castle, DE; Karla Jones Penn (Michael) of Upper Grandview, NY; Kelly E. Jones of Smryna, DE; a stepdaughter, Claudia E. Martin (Herbert) of Bear, DE; three grandchildren, Kevin, Bryan and Alexis Penn of Upper Grandview, NY and a host of friends and family members. A memorial service will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Episcopal Church of St. Andrew & St. Matthew. Interment: Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE at 1 p.m.
