Ronald O. Evans

August 20, 1953 — February 24, 2022

Ronald O. Evans, son of Arthur L. Rollins, Sr. and the late Margaret Ann Evans was born on August 20, 1953 in Wilmington, DE.  He departed this life peacefully on February 24, 2022.

Ronald received his early education at Absalom Jones School and the Public School System of Wilmington, DE. Ronald also studied at Goldey Beacom College, after which he began working at Discover Card.

Since working at Discover Card, Ronald worked various jobs throughout the years.

Ronald was an active member of the Hawks Inc. and enjoyed playing chess, watching sports and westerns. Ronald was a die-hard Eagles’ fan. He loved to dance and socialize during club events. He sponsored several Crab Feast bus trips to help fund various causes.  He loved spending time with friends and family or just keeping in touch via telephone.  He especially loved not only his daughter, Batina but Savion, Trinity & Treszur became his happiness.

Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Evans, his maternal grandparents, Joe and Mazie Evans, his paternal grandparents, the late Morris Rollins and Mary E. Stevenson, his sister Gloria J. Flamer, his granddaughter, Anzsanae Roman and brother, Alexis (Lucky) Nichols.

Ronald is survived by his (ex)wife Cathy Thomas, daughter, Batina Bunkley (Aaron), grandson, Savion Bunkley, great-grand daugthers, Trinity & Treszur Roman.  Father, Arthur L. Rollins, Sr., mothers Kim Smith and Beverly Wisher, uncles James Rollins, Nathanial Rollins, aunt, Annette Rollins. Siblings: Sharon Dorsey, Lisa Macintosh, Linda Hopkins, Carole Riley, Terence Rollins (Cynthia), Sharriesse Rollins, Arthur L. Rollins, Jr., Anita Wisher, Gwen Venable-Saulters (James), Sharon Venable, Pete Wilson, Roger Frisby, Carla and Tracey Nichols, nieces, nephews and a host of other family members (too many to name, but all loved). A very special friend and confidant, Teane Collins. Best friends, Stanley Sharp and Stanley Brooks.

A celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 11am, viewing 9-10:45am at Mother UAME Church, 701 East 5 th St. Wilmington, DE 19801 Wearing a mask is required.

Interment will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Ave, Wilmington, DE 19805.
