Ryan Drew Caulk, son of Pamela Caulk and William Burke was born on January 17, 1987 in the former Wilmington General Hospital. He departed this life suddenly on Friday August 6, 2021 in the Christiana Hospital surrounded by his family.
Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Joseph A. Miller and Peggy Johnson-Miller and maternal Uncle Joseph M. Miller.
Ryan received his early education at Caravel Academy, Calvin R. McCullough and Gunning Bedford Middle School. He graduated from Wm. Penn High School in 2005 where he played Corner Position on the Varsity Football Team. After high school he attended Delaware Tech studying Radiology.
As a child he attended Mt. Salem UAME Church in DE. City. Ryan worked at UPS, managed fast food restaurants and worked at Wiso’s Seafood where he enjoyed the crew and they enjoyed him.
Ryan loved cars, especially the 1950’s Chevys. He also liked working on cars. He collected sneakers, keeping them and his clothes in excellent condition. He took care of everything he had. He also helped out in the neighborhood with whatever help was needed. He enjoyed doing things for Aunt Marlene Haman and Bridget Parish, his neighbors and along with his Mother he would visit the elderly in nursing homes.
Fourteen years ago Ryan met LaTiya Greene whom he loved very much. Last year they got engaged. Seven years ago they had their son, Ryan Jr. who is the love and joy of his parents lives. The family loved doing things together, taking trips to the beaches and amusement parks.
Ryan wanted to teach his son everything his grandfather taught him, essentially being a “Jack of all trades.” He loved Ryan Jr., his mini-me, to the moon and back.
Ryan leaves to cherish his loving memories his son, Ryan Drew Caulk, Jr., fiancé LaTiya Greene. mother Pamela, father, William, brothers: Billy Caulk, Clinton Burke(LaFonda), Coy Burke(Tonya), Wendy and Chevelle Burke. Nieces; Halley Reading (Kevin), Jaydin Bartling(Ryan), Kabyna Burke, Kenya Burke, nephews; Gage Caulk and Corey Burke, sister-in-law, Holly Figgs, great aunts, Clara Miller and Ilhwa Johnson and a host of cousins and friends.
Ryan will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Please everyone check your family history for heart disease and see a doctor.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday August 28, 2021 at Mother UAME Church, 701 E. 5th St. Wilm., DE 19801. Viewing 9-10am, service at 10 am. Interment, Gracelawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Attendees must wear masks.
